10 Men's Hairstyles Women Love

There are plenty of men’s hairstyles women hate, and if you happen to be sporting one, there’s a reason you haven’t had a date in a while. The flip side, however, is that there are men’s hairstyles women find irresistible and we made it our mission to uncover them for you. Using pics of both real men and celebrities, we show you the top hairstyles for men that women go crazy for, along with what they love about them and how you can achieve the look.

Super Short

10 Men's Hairstyles Women LoveWhy she loves it: This simple but sexy men’s hairstyle is probably one of women’s all-time favourites. It has a very traditionally masculine look, and, at the same time, this style results in baby-soft hair that women love to run their hands over.
How to get it: You’ll need clippers for this style so ask your barber to shear off your hair into a uniform length over your entire head. Once a month, repeat the process to maintain the length. On a daily basis, the bonus of this cut is that there’s no need for styling, so just wash and go.

Shaggy Layers

10 Men's Hairstyles Women LoveWhy she loves it: Shaggy layers on a guy suggest that he’s not uptight or high maintenance when it comes to his appearance (i.e. your bathroom products won’t take up more space than hers). Women also imagine that men with shaggy layers are more laissez-faire about life in a laid-back, surfer dude kind of way, and they definitely imagine running their hands through layered locks.
How to get it: You’ll need to grow your hair out for a while and then ask your barber to chop it in layers, with the longest ones no more than chin length. You can also add a longer front that can be casually swept to the side. At home, use a little wax or pomade to style some definition into your hair. Finally, don’t let your mane get too greasy (you’re going for silky not grungy) and get regular trims so you don’t venture into the long hair zone. That freaks women out.

Square Cut

10 Men's Hairstyles Women LoveWhy she loves it: This men’s hairstyle produces a sleek and clean-cut appearance, which conveys to women that you have your life in order. This cut emphasises the manliness of your facial features by drawing attention to your face’s angles.
How to get it: Unless you’re a genius with the at-home clippers, you should definitely get professional help with this cut. Bring in a photo of the style you’re going for and it should be pretty straightforward for your barber to clip your hair straight across your forehead and straight down each side to create what looks like a half square.

Front Wave

10 Men's Hairstyles Women LoveWhy she loves it: The front wave has serious appeal without taking itself too seriously. On the one hand, it conjures up images of the suaveness associated with John F. Kennedy. On the other, it’s reminiscent of the late ’80s hairstyles favoured by the out-of-control, power-suit wearing characters from Less Than Zero. In essence, it’s both chic and cheeky.
How to get it: This hairstyle requires locks that are longer on the crown of your head and taper off on the sides. That kind of cut will allow you to get significant volume when you comb hair over to one side. To keep your wave in place, comb a tiny bit of mousse or gel through the front of your hair and style it with a comb.

Slicked Back

10 Men's Hairstyles Women LoveWhy she loves it: Slicked-back hair looks, well, slick. It’s a retro-inspired style that instantly makes any guy look like Don Draper, and despite his womanising ways there’s no woman alive that isn’t charmed by this fictional ad executive’s confident air and sophisticated hair.
How to get it: A slicked back hairstyle works best with medium length hair. To get the look, comb a styling product with hold throughout your hair. Next, part your hair on the left hand side beginning the part toward the middle of your left eyebrow. Flip locks over to the right side, moving your hair gently toward the back of your head, and use a dab of shine-enhancing pomade to give shine and keep everything in place.
