You Got Dumped: Now Vent
AskMen / Thinkstock
“It could have happened recently enough that it’s still raw, or long ago enough that you can finally laugh about it (or at least not punch your friends when they do).“
We want your stories of heartbreak and woe. Not your stories of bad dates or hookups gone wrong, but those ones about when she — your soulmate, your kindred spirit, that sweet little delicate flower — decided that she was done with you and slowly sucked the oxygen out of your heart until it lay deflated and black in a puddle of your tears.
The “she” in question can be a cheating girlfriend, a runaway bride, an out-of-love wife or any other female agent of devastation. It could have happened recently enough that it’s still raw, or long enough ago that you can finally laugh about it (or at least not punch your friends when they do). And you can use as many words as you need to tell it to us.
We know guys don’t like to talk about getting dumped. We know that we prefer to tell our buddies that it was “mutual,” and pretend that we’ve moved on. But we also know that it feels damn good to unload these stories in all their ghastly, miserable detail on somebody. So unload them on us — anonymously. We’ll publish the best ones and, hopefully, will help other guys from getting emotionally liquified the same way we did.
