When you’re planning your wedding, you’re sure to have a lot of questions about finding the right attire for your family, bridal party, and more. That’s why our etiquette experts are here to answer all of your fashion-related questions.
My mom wants to wear a long dress to my wedding. At what time of day is this appropriate? Can the gown have beading?
If your wedding is very formal (ballroom reception or the equivalent), it’s fine for your mother to go long any time of day. If you’re having an informal affair, a dressy suit or cocktail-length dress is more appropriate both before and after noon. As far as beading goes, Mom should save the sparkle for evening nuptials.
